Frequently
Asked Questions
1. Do I need an ARC Europe membership card to enjoy discounts ?

2. Do I need to be a member for these discounts ?
Yes, you need to be a member of an ARC Europe affiliated club, such as AA, ADAC, ACI, etc in Europe, or AAA or CAA in North America, and so on.
In countries other than the USA or Canada, just check whether the club in your country offers Show your Card! / Show Your Card & Save. If it does, then it is affiliated with ARC Europe.

3. How do I apply for an International Driving Permit when travelling to Europe ?
The IDP is a translation of your official driver's license. You must also take your official license with you, for this is the official, legal document.
ARC Europe itself does NOT issue International Driving Permits. Before your trip, we advise that you visit your local motor club office with 2 passport-sized photos. Your club may also ask for a moderate fee. You can also contact your club by mail. Or you can visit your club website. They often have IDP information as well as instructions how to apply for it locally.
